NOTICE CONCERNING FMF NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY,
NASAL BONE AND TRICUSPID FLOW COURSES

Physicians, sonographers, and other health care providers who need to attend an FMF NT and Nasal Bone (NB) course can attend non-profit CME courses we offer in association with the Fetal Medicine Foundation USA, universities and medical societies.
THE USA NATIONAL FMF-NT/ NB/ TF STANDARD
The USA National FMF-NT and NB Standard has been established by the over 12,000 attendees at over 170 FMF courses in the USA. The FMF standard for measuring NT is Operator-Specific which means each sonographer attends a formal course, has NT films evaluated, and receives an FMF NT certificate before measuring NT to be combined with freeBeta/PAPP-A.
The USA National FMF NT Standard measures the largest NT because the larger the NT the higher the risk for Down syndrome. The largest of 3 NT's is measured to 0.1mm with the calipers "On to On" the tissue on either side of the NT fluid. The calipers should never be placed inside the NT fluid cavity and NT's should never be averaged. Only the largest NT measurement to 0.1mm should be submitted for combination with freeBeta/PAPP-A. GeneCare accepts NT's from physicians and sonographers who have FMF USA or NTQR certificates.
NT/FREEBETA/PAPP-A PRENATAL SCREENING
Dried blood NT/freeBeta/PAPP-A screening using FMF NT measurements provides 91% Down syndrome detection, less than 2.4% screen positive rate, and 1 in 17 yield. The addition of Nasal Bone or Tricuspid Flow raises detection to 95% at 2% screen positive rate with higher yield. Dried blood NT/NB/TF/freeBeta/PAPP-A screening is the earliest, safest, and most accurate prenatal screening test and pregnancy management protocol.

To obtain FMF Nasal Bone and Tricuspid Flow Certificates, print the Film Submission Form at http://fetalmedicine.com/usa/pdf/AA%20NT_NB%20film%20submission.pdf. You must first submit your NT films for FMF-USA review and then your NB and TF films. You will not be charged for the NB and TF film evaluation. Physicians and sonographers with an NTQR NT certificate may apply for an FMF NT certificate.
